Teja Verde is an eco-design studio that researches and develops projects at the intersection of design, art, science, and territory. Elvert Durán Vivanco
Industrial Designer · Co-founder

An industrial designer, musician, and self-taught photographer, he teaches and researches at the University of Bío-Bío and has developed his professional career in Chile, Brazil, and Australia, participating in projects that integrate design, art, science, and technology.

His research in cymatic morphology explores how sound stimulates form, opening new possibilities for the design of experimental products and objects. These studies have been presented in international exhibitions, consolidating a line of work that intersects perception, matter, and vibration.

In parallel, he has promoted initiatives related to biophilia, biomimicry, and the management of water and environmental resources, aimed at developing sustainable solutions that strengthen the relationship between communities and the natural environment. He has been an artist-in-residence at the Museu do Amanhã (Rio de Janeiro), a fellow at institutions in Italy, Uruguay, and Chile, and a finalist in international competitions in Oceania and Europe.

His career combines creation and applied research, addressing topics such as biomaterials, creative economies, and transdisciplinary design methodologies. Among his accolades, the Design and Research Award at the Ibero-American Design Biennial (Madrid) stands out, consolidating his contribution at the intersection of design, innovation and sustainability.

Carlota Durán Vivanco
Industrial Designer · Co-founder

An industrial designer specializing in ceramic design and sustainability, she has dedicated her academic training and professional career to research on ceramics and energy efficiency, developing processes and products that integrate innovation, materiality, and environmental awareness.

Her experience encompasses product design projects and collaborative research focused on the environment and sustainability, working in industrial and artisanal contexts in Argentina, Chile, and Mexico. She is the co-founder of the Teja Verde ecodiseño® studio, where she promotes a practice that intersects design, territory, and material culture.

She was a Fulbright scholar and received the Design and Research Award at the Ibero-American Design Biennial (Madrid, 2022). She was an Academic Leader at Tecnológico de Monterrey (2015) and was recognized as a Distinguished Woman of 2019 for her contributions to the arts and culture by the Municipality of Concepción. She was also among the 100 Citizen Leaders for Climate Action in Biobío (COP25).
